10DLC Registration, Toll-Free Verification, & SMS Compliance

Wireless carriers are taking aggressive actions in the fight against spam by mandating that all message senders must register their brand and campaigns. Updated guidelines have been introduced for local numbers, or 10DLC (10-digit long codes), and toll-free numbers. Read below to see how Text-Em-All is keeping registration simple and free for our customers.

Why is registration now required?

The FCC has been pushing wireless carriers to fix the problem of spam (both calling and texting) for more than a decade. The major carriers (AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile) introduced registration as a solution to reduce spam. In the past, many marketers used five or six-digit short codes for mass texting campaigns. These short code numbers were often shared by thousands of senders, some who acted irresponsibly but also making it hard to identify spammers.

As 10DLC (local number) and toll-free number texting expanded over the past few years it provided a faster and less expensive way for spammers to send messages. A2P, or application-to-person messaging, solutions were embraced by developers who could easily connect to message aggregators with open APIs to send hundreds of millions of spam texts every day

We're making registration easy

text-no-reg-fees

Registration has a variety of one-time (up to $45) and recurring fees (up to $10/month) associated with the process. Most services pass these fees directly to customers, not us.

The registration ecosystem is complex. Multiple organizations exist between the sender and recipient, not to mention fees, scoring, vetting, filtering, and approval. We've created a process that takes just a few minutes to complete, and our team will keep you updated every step of the way.

text-resolving-msg-blocks

Wireless carriers have gotten serious about spam, hence registration. We've seen a significant increase in the number of blocked messages for our customers. Many of these blocks are "false positives" triggered by filters carriers are putting in place. Regardless, once a block occurs, the text number cannot send further messages until the issue is resolved. Our teams have been able to resolve 80% of blocked messages and most within 24 hours.
